Delicious Pork Ribs/Chops/Sweet and Spicy Spare Ribs

There is nothing more gratifying than sitting with a plate of pork ribs on a Sunday afternoon! Wah!! The most loved dish of everyone in my family. Thanks to my dear friend Violet Pais who had given me this recipe some years ago. This has always been a big hit, loved by all who tasted it!

How to make tender Pork Ribs?

Ingredients to marinate

1.5 kg pork ribs

Take the following in a big bowl :

2 tbsp tomato ketchup

2tbsp tomato hot and sweet sauce

2 tbsp BBQ sauce

1 tbsp soya sauce

2 tsp full bafat or chilli powder

½ tsp pepper powder

1tsp ginger garlic paste

2 cinnamon sticks

6 cloves

2 bay leaves

2 cardamom

2 tsp vinegar

salt

Recipe to make Pork Ribs in Pressure Cooker?
Tasty Pork Ribs

Wash the pork ribs or chops and strain all the water. Take all the above ingredients in a bowl and marinate with the above paste overnight or for 3 hours in the refrigerator. Then boil it till tender. Cooking time depends on how tender the meat is. I normally pressure cook it for one or two whistles as I always prefer the meat to be soft and tender. You can also cook the same in a wok if you do not have a pressure cooker. Meat should be tender, continue boiling it without the lid if meat is already cooked well until most water is absorbed.

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok or a vessel. Once hot add the following one by one.

3 tsp tomato paste

2 tsp ginger garlic paste

vinegar

half tsp sugar

Add the tomato paste followed by the ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute or two, add vinegar, (more bafat/chilli powder if required) and sugar. Add the thick liquid from the pork ribs and mix well. Toss in the pork ribs, gently mix, continue boiling until it’s semi dry. Check the taste for salt and spice, add incase required. Now it’s ready! Enjoy!! If you try it once, you will make it again and again!! 🙂
