Atta Ladoo | Wheat Laddu

Wheat laddus has always been my daughter’s favourite! Got this recipe from my sister Evait who is a great cook. These laddus can be made throughout the year especially during christmas time. A simple recipe which can be tried by anyone.

Ingredients

4 cups atta or wheat flour

3 cups sugar powder

1½ cup melted ghee

½ tsp cardamom powder

½ cup coarsely crushed cashewnuts and raisins

Method:

Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a vessel and fry the cashewnut pieces for a minute followed by raisins for two seconds. Remove it in a plate

Roast the wheat flour in the same pan for 5 to 7 minutes on a small to medium flame until the colour changes slightly and you get a nice aroma. Set this aside to cool.

Once cooled add sugar powder, cardamom, nuts and raisins. (Optional: keep 2 tbsp powdered sugar separately in a plate to roll the laddus at the end) Add enough melted ghee and mix well by hand until you are able to make a ball. Shape them into small balls and roll them in some sugar powder and keep them aside. Store them in a box.
